Here we are, Sterling Sound, just about a year ago, singing in an impromptu museum during the Suttons Bay Sequicentennial celebration.  We performed at the Music House Museum on August 18th of this year. A few years ago, this series of Thursday evening concerts got its start at the Unitarian Church. It features local musicians and a smorgasbord of music that you might not hear elsewhere. The concerts start at 7pm and admission is by donation. In the past, these concerts have been a lot of fun. We hope to see you there!

That's (L to R) Katy Bean-Larson, tenor; Carrol Wise, bass; Marie Koltvedt, lead; and Joy Platteborze, baritone.

We like to have fun! When we were singing in Suttons Bay we came across this thing! It's Old Rock the hermit who lived north of town and came to town only infrequently. Parents would threaten their children, "If you don't...Old Rock will get you!" That's Katy as Rock.

Between foot surgery, influenza, shingles, and family emergencies, we didn't perform as much as we'd like this past winter. Then, the Cherry Capital Chorus invited Sterling Sound to perform in their annual show, the June Night of Harmony. What to do about the tenor who's been out of town for months? Bernice Widrig graciously stepped in to sing tenor. And what a great job she did! That's Bernice with the snake around her neck.

Sterling Sound is available to entertain at your event or party. Sending a "Greeting Chord" is a fun way to celebrate a birthday or any special event. A "Get Well Chord" delivered to someone at Munson Medical Center, helps cheer the recipient and everyone else nearby. To hire the quartet, you can call Joy at 935-4765. Or you can arrange it online from Katy.
